Temporary root touch-up wands: what to know before you buy
A few visible roots can appear well before your next colour appointment. If you want to soften that contrast for a day rather than change your whole hair colour, a temporary root touch-up wand is worth considering. Leaving your greys visible is equally fine: this is an optional finishing product, not an essential part of haircare.

What does a temporary root wand do?
Keracolor Root Touch Up + Tame is designed to add temporary colour to visible roots and greys while smoothing flyaways. Its small applicator lets you target the area you want to disguise, rather than applying a colour treatment through all your lengths.
Keracolor says this formula washes out at the next shampoo. That makes it a different purchase from a semi-permanent colour conditioner, which can last through multiple washes. Decide which result you want before choosing a product with “colour” in its name.
Check your regrowth before choosing a shade
Part your hair where you normally wear it and look at the regrowth in good light. Is your main concern a few silver strands near the hairline, a narrow band along the part, or a much larger area? This gives you a more useful starting point than choosing from the shade name alone.
- For a small visible area: consider whether the wand shade will blend with the surrounding hair.
- For extensive regrowth: think about how much area you would need to cover with a small applicator. A colour consultation may be more practical if you want a lasting, all-over result.
- For a big colour change: do not expect a temporary touch-up to recreate fresh highlights or a salon colour service.
Two options in our range
Keracolor Root Touch Up + Tame Champagne 10ml is the lighter shade option listed in our range. Compare it with the hair around the regrowth, rather than assuming every blonde needs the same shade.
Keracolor Root Touch Up + Tame Mocha 10ml offers another shade in the same temporary wand format. Check the product image and shade information before ordering. If you are between shades, ask for advice rather than buying a darker colour simply because you want more coverage.

Allow drying time in your routine
The manufacturer's directions are straightforward: use the wand on dry hair, concentrate on visible roots, and let the product dry before continuing with styling. Follow the instructions and warnings on your own pack.
Although the formula is described as quick-drying, Keracolor notes that temperature and humidity affect drying time. Leave a little breathing room before you head out instead of treating “quick” as an exact number of seconds.
Questions to settle before buying
Is this the same as Keracolor Color + Clenditioner?
No. Root Touch Up + Tame is a temporary, dry-hair spot product. Color + Clenditioner is a semi-permanent colour-depositing product with a different routine. The similar branding does not make their directions interchangeable.
Does “all-day colour” mean waterproof or transfer-proof?
Do not assume those claims are equivalent. Check the pack for any specific wear claims, and allow the product to dry fully before styling or touching the treated area.
What should I check first?
Start with the area you want to cover, the closest shade match and how long you want the colour to last. Those three decisions help you choose a useful touch-up rather than an extra bottle that does not suit your routine.
